Fundo Ligno Plus shower elements were developed especially for use in old and new buildings with suspended timber floors. They are ready to receive tiles or Fundo Top design surfaces as a finish. The Fundo Ligno Plus is just 23 mm thick at its outer edges (44mm at drain collar) and can therefore be easily integrated into the existing wooden layer.

wedi Fundo shower elements can be installed on almost any surface as a directly tileable, flush-to-floor shower systems. The system includes a hard rigid XPS foam core with a special cementitious surface coating, a predefined surface gradient and a matching drainage. Due to its special design, the Fundo Ligno Plus is especially suitable for installation in wooden floors. Thanks to its outer edge thickness of just 23 mm it sits and fits flush with the existing wooden layer.

Due to the integrated slope, the outer edge thickness falls significantly and so, a support plate is fitted underneath reinforcing the drain area, providing peace of mind about the ever-moving, moisture sensitive wooden floor.

In combination with the (optional) seamless, non-slip and antibacterial Fundo Top design surface it provides complete protection against damp, mould and fungi at both substrate and surface level.

Drain:

A drain is not included as standard with the Wedi Fundo Ligno Plus, therefore it will need to be purchased if required. A number of options are available as follows:

DN50 Square: Depth below tray 90mm – Flow rate 0.80 l/s / 48.0 l/m
DN50 Round: Depth below tray 90mm – Flow rate 0.80 l/s / 48.0 l/m
DN40 Mini Max Low profile: Depth below tray 57mm – Flow rate 0.50 l/s / 30.0 l/m

To make installation of the drain easier a drain substructure is optionally available. The substructure supports the drain body, eliminating the need to cement the drain body in.

Additionally, alternative drain grates (standard supplied) are available to purchase separately.

Waterproofing/Sealing:

The Wedi Fundo Ligno wet room tray former is itself 100% waterproof, including the core. This means that should it become damaged the tray former is still waterproof. If a Wedi Fundo Ligno tray is joined to Wedi Building Board using the Wedi 610 Hybrid Adhesive and Sealant, as per the manufacturer’s instructions, then that joint will be 100% waterproof. However, we strongly advise the taping of all joints with waterproof tape, and then sealing the whole area with the Wedi Sealing Kit to provide extra assurances on the waterproofing and peace of mind for years to come.
